Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I have my septic tanks pumped?
The frequency of pumping depends on the number of occupants in the household. If there are 1 to 4 people, it is recommended that tanks be pumped every 3 years. If there are more than 4 occupants, more frequent pumping is recommended.

How much will it cost?
The cost depends on the following variables:

  • Number of tanks
  • Tanks are open or unopened

What are the warning signs of septic system failure?

  • You can’t flush.
  • Water backing up into bathtub or sink.
  • Water seeping out into your yard.

Where are my septic tanks located?
Septic tank location can vary; usually if you locate the sewer line exiting the house, the tank or tanks are within 10 to 20 feet. Tanks are approximately 8 feet long by 5 feet wide and each tank has a cover. The cover is located at the end of the tank. If you choose not to uncover the tank or tanks, a skilled technician will locate them with either a probe or electronic transmitter.

Do I need to be home during the appointment?
The homeowner need not be present during the service call. The quality of our work is the same regardless, so the choice is yours.
